Only use the original files of the Helsinki framed logo. Any alterations, stretching or use of effects are prohibited.
The Helsinki framed logo must be used in accordance with the guidelines.
The Helsinki framed logo is used in all of Helsinki’s communications and marketing.
The use of Helsinki’s traditional coat of arms is still part of the visual identity but is restricted to certain special occasions, such as official visits or in connection to the City’s jubilee years and as the City’s seal.

Instructions for signs
The logo is a registered trademark and in this context we will be calling it the Helsinki framed logo.
The logo consists of the text Helsinki edged by the frame shape which in turn is derived from the City crest. Regardless of language the typeface is Helsinki Grotesk font. The entity, defined in proportions and arrangement, constitutes the official logo of Helsinki. The original files of the Helsinki framed logo are available for download at the bottom of this page.
Please do not attempt to recreate the logo, and always use the appropriate original file.
The structure of the logo
The typography of City of Helsinki’s signage is based on the typography of the visual identity of the City of Helsinki.
As opposed to the other parts of the visual identity, the signage uses only one typeface Helsinki Grotesk Medium.
In terms of thickness, Helsinki Grotesk Medium is optimal for the <sup>signage</sup>.
The signage of the City of Helsinki is based on the elements of the City of Helsinki’s visual identity. The Helsinki framed logo, colours and typography wrap the signage into a visible and integrated part of the Helsinki brand.
